Meet Our Staff

Blake

Hi! I’m Blake and I'm the Assistant Director at Happy Go Lucky Childcare. I’ve spent the last 20 years in early childhood education, wearing just about every hat imaginable in schools across the Portland area. I’m deeply passionate about this work because those first few years truly set the stage for a lifetime of learning. For me, it’s all about creating inclusive, engaging spaces where every student feels seen, excited to grow, and like they truly belong.

When I’m off the clock, I keep things low-key, usually walking the neighborhood with my dog, catching up with friends, and enjoying local food and a good iced coffee.

Diego

Hello! My name is Diego. I have been working in childcare for almost 4 years. I have worked with kids of all ages and from all walks of life. I have experience working with infants, toddlers, as well as preschool age groups. I have also had the privilege of becoming an Inclusive development teacher, which included working with children that were autistic, nonverbal, and had other learning delays. I enjoy working with children because it gives me the opportunity to give children the grounds to become the best version of themselves. I believe it is important for children to be heard and seen, as well as be given all the right tools to do their best. I currently am working as the lead teacher in the toddler room, primarily focusing on social-emotional well-being and preschool readiness.

Hello, my name is Ashley and I'm an assistant preschool teacher at Happy Go Lucky Childcare. I bring over nine years of experience working with children ages 0–6, along with a strong foundation in Montessori philosophy. I am passionate about creating a nurturing, structured environment where children feel empowered to explore, learn independently, and develop a strong sense of self. I take pride in supporting each child’s natural curiosity and guiding them as they build confidence through hands-on discovery and meaningful experiences. I believe that by investing in young children, I am contributing to something much bigger I strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the world, one child at a time.

Outside of my work, I enjoy reading, traveling, seeking new adventures, staying active through running and sports, and exploring new restaurants I’m a true foodie at heart. I also value my faith and enjoy serving God as an important part of my life.
